A wee bit of a poke. NB.

Well, it’s almost over. My new book, Outdoor Photography Masterclass, is written, has had its first edit and is now being read and having the picture selection done. I’m not allowed to talk about its unique structure or exact content yet but there is a good mix of very practical information with what I hope will be some useful commentary on nature photography. Several of my key essays have been revised and reworked to make them more readable! At its core, the book is a call for a new era of creativity in nature photography:
“I don’t think there has ever been a more exciting time to be a photographer. It feels like we are coming out of an era of austerity when the cost and difficulty of distributing film inhibited creativity. For a few years now, many of us have been picking out a few rock n’ roll chords using the new digital media but the creative equivalent of the ‘60’s has still to hit nature photography. Bring it on!”
So begins a new article for Outdoor Photography, the rest of which you can read here – continuing the theme that runs through Outdoor Photography Masterclass. For me, writing is as much a statement of intent as an account of what I do. There’s no harm in giving yourself something to live up to.
Don’t forget, I am now taking bookings talks in 2010/11 using a novel model that allows the society to recoup the cost of hiring me. Read more!
Niall,
I couldn’t agree more! I only hope that I don’t have to sport an afro (a truly frightening thought) and tie-dye to fit into the scene!
Rock on,
Clay
