The passing of time. AP

It never ceases to amaze, and occasionally worry me that time passes quite as quickly as it does. One minute I’m posting a blog on the WPOTY competition and then before I know it it is 10 days later and I am none the wiser. I’ve done a bit of photography, a bit of processing but 10 days worth, no chance. I genuinely have no idea where the time goes and would probably be more concerned were it not that my head, able only to occupy one emotion at a time, is still presently consumed by confusion.
I am at least fortunate that during the recent cold spell (oh please let it return!) I enjoyed a couple of very fruitful days of photography and so while you all hopefully enjoy a wintry blackbird image I can go and lie down in a darkened room.
At least you’ve done some photography! I am going on a photo workshop in ten days time without having picked up the camera since a trip to South Africa in September, and that was after having done only a couple of days photography in the previous six months. Where does the time go? In my case, it goes into other work – so I can afford the occasional foray into photography.
This is not how I planned my life, not even a small part of it.
Andrew,
This is a really lovely photograph. Would love to see more in this series someday.

Hi Andrew,
Hi Annie and Clay,
I think you should be filled by the cold that seems to come back, Andrew.
For my part, I cling with both arms at this time seems like sand between the fingers. Enjoy every moment is not easy but I work diligently.
I also had the chance to see a young blackbird come see me during the cold weather.

Expect next!
see you
Thank you Annie, Clay and Denis for taking the time to comment. Annie, I know exactly what you mean. Since becoming a full time professional it seems that more and more of my photographic time is being consumed by processing. Every time I get half a chance to get out with the camera something, or someone comes along to disrupt my plans or life simply gets in the way.
Best of luck with your workshop by the way, I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you that remembering all of your camera settings is just like riding a bike, even though I fell off mine the other day!
Clay, thankyou for your kind comments. More of these sort of images will be following over the coming weeks and with a new cold spell supposedly en route I’m hoping to return and capture a few more.
Hi Denis Inspiring stuff!
”The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time
Any fool can do it,there ain’t nothing to it
Nobody knows how we got to the top of the hill
But since we’re on our way down
We might as well enjoy the ride.”
James Taylor 1977
Made me think.
