The familiar returns. AP

For those followers of this blog who might have been suffering withdrawal symptoms at the absence of fog bound, low level water bird species over the last few weeks then rest easy, they’re back. Here we have an adolescent grebe chick emerging out of the mist, an event that has occurred just once in the countless mornings that I have spent coot-bothering at my local haunt.

Such experiences, if nothing else, offer a pertinent reminder that when it comes to wildlife photography it is almost an achievement if you manage to get to a position where you are simply repeating yourself. Nature and light it seems simply wont allow it and heavens knows, I have tested this theory to the nth degree over the summer months.
