Not a deconstruction as such, as it lacks all the elements of the landscape from sky to ground, but an extra big panel featuring detail of buildings on Senja, Norway.
In some ways, this is a rather unfair representation of the place: Norway isn’t big on dereliction and perhaps these pictures give it undue prominence. They do, however, say two things: “colour” and “fish”. Without both, I’m not use what sort of a life people would have north of the Arctic Circle, especially in winter.
We’re hoping to return to Senja with Northshots next winter. Write to Amanda for details. There is so much more to photograph than the aurora. That will follow.

Some 25 years ago in Haute Provence posters began to appear of sets of windows, doors then door furniture – ancient handles, hinges latches…You can get them in Italy, too.
They sold very well but there was a sameness about them….lots of ruddy doors and windows that, with the best will in the world do share a certain ‘geometry.
What I particularly like about this panel is a. the variety of bits of life collected therein and b. the pastel shades that are characteristics of some coasts c. The long format…not some multiple of A sizes…d. the delightful ‘self portrait’ at 3,4 (3,7 for those working top down).
Very evocative

Agree with you Niall, nearly every village we went through had aspects like this, i suspect down to the fact that for most of the year the houses were empty but great to photograph!!
Looking a bit saggy as Paul said!!
Really well put together some great colours going on and I suspect you could keep moving them around and coming up with something fresh and even better!!
Hello Craig
If you want the best combination of wildness and dereliction, let’s go to Estonia!
Have resisted the temptation to keep fiddling with the arrangement of these element – but layer is numbered for ease of finding, if I change my mind!
Best
