After sitting on the shelf for several months, I found the right conditions (sombre, verging towards depressing) this week to shoot this sign reacting to the granting of planning permission to build a “world class” golf course north of Aberdeen. Sadly, I think that I could be making a lot more of these now that the Scottish Executive has shown itself to be gullible enough to be taken in by disingenuous claims by developers. Just remember the promised economic benefits and see if they match up in the years to come…

    Niall,

I wish I had a few of your signs over here! I am always amazed at how many people believe golf course developments are actually good for the environment.

    Have a good weekend.

Spot on. Unfortunately the SSSI designation is pretty much meaningless now, providing you have enough money. What annoyed me the most is the gold resort being turned down by the local council but the good old Alex Salmond bent over backwards to make sure it went through anyway – makes me wonder what he is getting from it….

Professionals in all fields feel challenged by changes to their profession. Especially, change seemingly beyond their control. Having had to make changes myself over 20 years, in the interiors business, is something that I now embrace. Sticking to what was once a way of life within a 3 mile radius has changed my perspective. A grain of financial security clouds my judgement & opinion perhaps. As in any field the work produced by the best, ( talented & business savvy), will always be in demand for saleable goods and services @ all price points. Well, that’s what i keep telling myself.

I hope you are right Andrew. I look forward to meeting you at Inversnaid on Sunday.

    Best
